Selecting the correct Endurance Charger mode
This guide helps you decide which charging mode to select when using the Endurance Charger system.
The Endurance Charger includes Normal, High and Li-ion modes, together with an optional Recondition stage.
Which mode should I use?
Use Normal mode to charge compatible Traffic Group Signals lead-acid batteries.
Do not use:
- High mode; or
- Li-ion mode.
These modes are not approved for charging TGS traffic signal batteries.
How to select Normal mode
- Briefly press the Mode button to cycle through the available charging modes.
- Stop when the LED next to Normal is illuminated.
- Check the selected mode before starting every charging cycle.
The charger stores the selected mode when it is disconnected from the mains supply or battery. However, you should still confirm the setting before each use.
Normal-mode charging voltages
| Charging stage | Voltage |
|---|---|
| Absorption | 14.4 V |
| Float | 13.8 V |
| Storage | 13.2 V |
| Recondition, when deliberately enabled | 16.2 V |
Charge voltage is adjusted automatically to compensate for temperature when charging lead-acid batteries.
