What is the Endurance Power Charging System?

Introduction

The Endurance Power Charging System is a wall-mounted battery charging system designed to help traffic management teams recharge compatible Traffic Group Signals batteries safely and efficiently.

It can be used with the Endurance AGM batteries fitted to Evo1, Evo ACM and Metro signals. A full charge can typically be completed in approximately 16 hours, helping you return equipment to service quickly and make better use of your signal fleet.

• Fast charging: compatible batteries can typically be fully recharged in approximately 16 hours.
• Intelligent charging: a seven-stage adaptive charging process manages each recharge cycle and helps maintain battery condition.
• Efficient operation: the charging system is up to approximately 95% efficient and consumes only 0.5 W in standby.
• Automatic protection: the charger provides protection against reverse polarity, short circuits and overheating.
• Battery recovery: the charger can attempt to recover a severely discharged battery using a low charging current.
• Storage support: batteries can remain connected in Storage mode for extended periods.
• Quiet operation: the charger does not contain a cooling fan or other moving parts.

Available panel configurations

The Endurance Charger Panel is available in three configurations:

• 8 x 5 A charger panel
• 4 x 15 A charger panel
• 8 x 15 A charger panel

Each panel includes circuit protection, cable containment, an on/off switch, charger output cables and cable-parking points.

Charging times are approximate. Temperature and the age, condition and level of discharge of the battery can affect the time required.

The Endurance Charger Panel must be installed by a licensed or certified electrician who understands the hazards associated with electrical equipment and battery charging.
